Your First Visit and What to Expect
During your first regular visit in our practice, you will be introduced to our team and fill out any necessary paperwork. If you have dental insurance, please bring a copy of your insurance card. (You can also save time and fill out this information before hand or online). We’ll start your visit with some photographs of your teeth… please don’t be self-conscious. We use these to help diagnose problems and to help better communicate with you.
Then, you will be introduced to the doctor you are seeing. During this one on one time, you can talk about your concerns or any questions you may have about your oral health and smile. Feel free to bring up anything you want. After the talk with the doctor, you’ll be introduced to your hygienist who will take over your appointment. She will take digital scans to evaluate for decay. Your periodontal (gum and bone) health will be evaluated and your teeth will be evaluated to make sure everything is in good health. We’ll clean your teeth or if any gum problems exist, we’ll talk to you about that. Then your doctor will come in and perform and examination. At that point, he’ll talk to you about when he sees and the two of you can discuss options to help alleviate any problems and you can ask any questions you have.
