Same Day Crowns in Marietta
Crowns are used when there is not enough tooth structure to support a filling. They create a “big bear hug” around the tooth, to hold it together. Traditional crowns have a metal substructure under the porcelain. This can lead to that black line you can see around some crowns. But the latest innovation in crowns is solid ceramic. It’s not porcelain (which is glass and not very strong). Instead, Ceramic is extremely strong, kind to the opposing teeth and it looks beautiful.
In most dental practices, a crown is completed in two visits. Not at our practice! We make our custom crowns for you, while you sit and relax in our office. That means no second visit and no second shot and numbing! The crowns are manufactured just like professional labs do. Dr. Gilreath invested in this technology in 2012 and has become one of the South’s largest providers of this technology. Both Dr. Gilreath and Dr. Nezafat use this technology which is extremely fast and easy for the patient and provides exceptional quality and results.
How do we do it?
The procedure is extremely easy. After anesthesia, our dentists will prepare the tooth for a crown, removing any decay, taking away only the amount of tooth necessary to support the crown. Next we do a “digital scan” of your teeth. This takes the place of the old fashioned, goopy molds. It’s fast, easy and doesn’t hurt at all. In fact, you just sit there and in a couple of minutes, the scan is completed. Then you’re in to “you” time. Watch TV, listen to music or just sleep. The process takes about 35-40 minutes to complete the manufacturing of your crown. Then it’s adjusted and cemented into place. It’s that easy!
We can even do multiple crowns, bridges and full smile makeovers in one visit! We can replace old metal or metal/porcelain crowns that show unsightly metal at the margins.
With 1000’s of crowns placed under our care, we know you will appreciate the attention to detail and the beautiful results you will get. Contact our Marietta Porcelain Crowns Experts today and see just how easy the process is.
