One Visit, One Beautiful Crown, No Temporaries
Traditional dental crowns usually take two appointments and several weeks. Patients first get a temporary crown and wait for a dental lab, then come back for a second visit to have it placed. At Gilreath Family Dentistry, there’s a better way.
Using advanced CEREC technology, our doctors design, craft and place custom porcelain crowns in a single visit at our Marietta office. There are no goopy impression molds, no fragile temporary crowns and no second appointment. For busy professionals and families throughout Marietta and Cobb County, same-day crowns offer premium dentistry without the time commitment.

When a Same-Day Crown Is the Right Solution
A dental crown covers and protects a tooth that has been weakened or damaged. Same-day crowns are an excellent option for patients with:
- Cracked, chipped or broken teeth
- Large cavities that are too big for a filling
- Teeth weakened after a root canal
- Teeth worn down by grinding or clenching
- Failing or oversized fillings
- Old crowns that are worn, loose or unattractive
- Misshapen or discolored teeth that need cosmetic improvement
Our doctors evaluate each tooth to confirm that a same-day CEREC crown is the best long-term solution.
How We Create Your Same-Day Crown From Start to Finish
The same-day crown process at Gilreath Family Dentistry is extremely easy. Here’s how it works:
Comfortable Numbing
The area is gently numbed so the patient stays completely comfortable throughout the procedure.
Tooth Preparation
Our doctors prepare the tooth for the crown, removing any decay and taking away only the amount of tooth necessary to support the new restoration.
Quick Digital Scan
Instead of old-fashioned, goopy molds, we take a fast, painless digital scan of the teeth. Patients simply sit back, and the scan is completed in a couple of minutes.
Custom Design and In-Office Milling
The crown is designed digitally and milled from high-quality porcelain right in our office. This step takes about 35 to 40 minutes. It’s “you” time: patients can watch TV, listen to music or simply relax.
Final Adjustment and Placement
The finished crown is checked for fit and bite, adjusted as needed and permanently cemented into place. That’s it.

Multiple Crowns and Smile Makeovers in One Visit
Same-day dentistry isn’t limited to a single tooth. Using the same CEREC technology, our doctors can complete multiple crowns and even full smile makeovers in one visit. Patients who need several teeth restored can often finish everything in a single appointment, rather than spending weeks or months going back and forth to the office.
