Financial Policy
At Gilreath Family Dentistry, we aim to make your experience as smooth and transparent as possible. This financial policy outlines the payment expectations and options available to our patients. Please take a moment to review the following information to understand how payment and insurance claims will be handled.
For all services rendered, payment is due at the time of your visit. We kindly ask that you settle any outstanding balances at this time.
Insurance & Payment Information
We are no longer contracted with any dental insurance company as an in-network provider. Patients often ask why we made this decision, and we believe it’s important to be transparent.
Over time, many insurance carriers have become increasingly difficult to work with — frequently denying basic services or requesting duplicate x-rays and documentation that were already submitted and received. In addition, the vast majority of insurance carriers have not provided meaningful fee increases in over 20 years.
Insurance companies are typically for-profit organizations with a fiduciary duty to shareholders, which can create incentives to limit payments for patient services.
In order to continue delivering the level of care, technology, materials, and personal attention our patients expect — and that we expect of ourselves — we cannot accept reimbursements that do not keep pace with the true cost of providing quality dentistry.
As part of this transition, we reviewed fee structures from practices in our area that share our commitment to quality, advanced treatment options, and patient experience. This allowed us to develop a fee schedule that supports the continued delivery of comprehensive, high-quality care for our patients.
Even though we are out of network, many dental insurance plans still provide benefits for treatment performed at our office. As a courtesy, we will continue to submit insurance claims on your behalf. Our dedicated insurance specialist can help answer any questions you have about your dental benefits. Please note that your insurance policy is a contract between you and your insurance company, and you are responsible for any remaining balance not covered by your plan.
Payment Options
We accept a variety of payment methods for your convenience:
- Cash
- Credit/Debit Cards
- HSA/FSA
Additionally, financing options may be available through third-party providers like CareCredit, subject to approval.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation with this updated policy. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us.
