At Gilreath Family Dentistry, our job is to help patients feel confident in their smile. Our office offers a full menu of services to enhance the health and appearance of your teeth and gums. We want you to have a life that is full of smiling and laughing. Unfortunately, for the aging adult, these facial expressions also lead to unsightly lines and wrinkles around the mouth over time.
If you suffer from smiles lines (or laugh lines), you’ll be happy to know you that your Marietta dentist can help. At the same office that you get your teeth cleaning or cosmetic dental treatments, you can also get Botox and fillers for a fully rejuvenated smile!
Botox For Wrinkles
Botox is an injectable product known as a neuromodulator. It is designed to block signals from your facial nerves to the muscles, which works to relax and soften the wrinkles that are caused by repeated facial movements – such as smiling, laughing and squinting. Don’t worry; in the hands of a skilled injector, this doesn’t mean you won’t be able to make these facial expressions at all. The goal is to give you natural facial movements while reversing the appearance of wrinkles and lines. Getting Botox is quick and easy. The full effects are typically achieved after about 10-14 days and lasts for about three months.
Smooth Lines with Injectable Fillers
Our office uses the latest FDA approved hyaluronic acid fillers to turn back the hands of time in the face. Hyaluronic acid is a substance that the body produces naturally and is a building block for youthful skin. Unfortunately, hyaluronic acid also gets depleted with age, which results in sagging skin and lost volume in the face.
Dermal fillers with hyaluronic acid can be strategically injected in the skin like Botox. Instead of freezing the muscles, however, fillers work to “fill in” the lines and wrinkles. Facial filler treatment offers immediate results, but like Botox, it won’t last forever. Repeated injections will be necessary to keep your youthful complexion, but many fillers can last 6-18 months!
Top Off Your Dental Treatment
The next time that you’re in our Marietta, Georgia office for a dental check-up or procedure, ask us about adding Botox or dermal filler injections to your visit. Dr. Gilreath is fully qualified to evaluate facial aging concerns and determine which injection is right for you.
