Dear Patients and Friends,
Based on the current COVID-19 situation, I have decided to close our practice for an initial period of two weeks. At that time, I will re-evaluate things and make a decision as to when to reopen the office. This is not a decision made in haste, but rather one that is based on recommendations for social distancing made by leading scientists, physicians, the CDC, the WHO and our state government. This is already being seen via school closures and many businesses in our area closing or having reduced hours.
My highest priority is for the health of my patients and their families, my team members and their families and of course my own family. Other Western countries like Italy, France and Spain have now mandated social isolation and have shut down most non-essential services and businesses. Reading the recommendations of leading scientists and Public Health officials in America has led me to the conclusion that we must all do our part to promote and implement social distancing. I fear not doing so will cause a continuation of the spread of COVID-19 throughout our community, state and country.
We are navigating new territory here. This cannot be treated as a “snow week” or extended Spring Break. Instead, I believe we should all limit our “in person” interactions and try our best to stay at home. I feel that leaders in our communities must help implement this social distancing. As such, Gilreath Family Dentistry will be one of the first health care businesses in our community to close.
Our front office team will contact each patient with an existing appointment to reschedule as the weeks go on. If any current patient has an emergency, you are welcome to email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
I apologize for any inconvenience this causes our patients.
